President George W. Bush and his Chief of Staff Andy Card, in the Sarasota, Florida, elementary-school classroom in which he learned America was under attack on the morning of 9/11. Members of the media who were covering Bush that day and who were with him in the classroom thought the stories and photos they'd be filing later would be about a new education-reform initiative. Not long after this photo was taken, however, they would shift their attention to another story, one that would consume many of them for days, weeks, or even months.
